Islamic Emirate Ambassador Meets ICRC Representative in Beijing

KABUL(BNA): In a meeting, Mawlavi Bilal Karimi, the Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in China, met with Balthasar Staehelin, ICRC President to China and Head of the Regional Delegation for East Asia.

The discussions, held recently, focused on enhancing cooperation in humanitarian and infrastructure development in Afghanistan.

Ambassador Karimi expressed appreciation to the ICRC for its ongoing assistance to Afghanistan, highlighting the organization’s vital role in providing humanitarian support to those in need.

He emphasized the importance of expanding the scope of this support to include funding for development projects that could significantly improve the living conditions in the country.

Both officials underscored the necessity for greater cooperation between the Islamic Emirate and the ICRC, particularly in the realms of humanitarian aid and infrastructure initiatives.

The meeting signals a commitment to fostering a partnership that aims to address the pressing challenges faced by the Afghan population.
