HERAT(BNA): The construction of an international terminal in Herat has commenced with an investment of over $20 million USD.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, the Acting Minister of Transport and Aviation highlighted this terminal as a significant regional project, noting that it will be equipped with all necessary facilities. He further stated that once operational, the terminal will not only create employment opportunities for 4,000 individuals but also provide numerous conveniences for the public.
Sheikh Mawlana Islam Jar, the Governor of Herat, described the initiation of this project as a substantial step towards resolving the issues faced by travelers and transport companies. He emphasized the local administration’s full support for the project.
The Governor of Herat added that the terminal will be constructed with an investment of over $20.5 million on a land area of 1,000 acres in southern Herat, adhering to international standards. It will include amenities such as a hotel, workshop, fuel station, recreational area, 100 shops, 108 commercial offices, and 11 trade unions.
