Foreign Minister Mawlawi Muttaqi Expresses Support for Palestinian Unity Talks in Beijing

 

KABUL(BNA) – In a recent phone call with the head of the political Bureau of Hamas, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan expressed support for the recent unity and discussions among Palestinian factions in Beijing.

KABUL(BNA) – Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, Deputy Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced on his X page that Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, spoke with Ismail Haniyeh, Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, via telephone.

During the call, they discussed recent political and jihadist developments in Gaza and regional issues. Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi praised the struggle and sacrifices of Hamas and emphasized the importance of unity and steadfastness in their jihadist efforts, underscoring the commitment to Islamic principles and values.

Mawlawi Muttaqi expressed support for the recent dialogue and unity among Palestinian factions in Beijing and reiterated that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Afghan people support the legitimate resistance and cause of the Palestinian people.

Ismail Haniyeh also appreciated the stance of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Afghan nation on Palestine, particularly Gaza. He shared information about recent negotiations with the occupying regime.

It is worth noting that Palestinian groups, including Hamas and Fath, agreed yesterday in Beijing, the capital of China, to form a temporary national unity government following the end of the conflict in Gaza.
