Earthquake Hits Turkey’s Malatya Region

KABUL(BNA): A powerful earthquake registering a magnitude of 6.1 struck the Malatya region in southeast Turkey before noon today, Wednesday according to media reports.

The quake occurred at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers, with tremors felt across nearby areas, including Syria and Iraq.

Preliminary assessments indicate that the earthquake has resulted in significant financial damage, although the full extent is still being evaluated.

The Turkish Authorities are concerned about potential personal injuries and are working to gather information from affected areas.
