Deputy PM Baradar Discusses Investment Prospects with South African Investors


KABUL(BNA): During a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, several South African investors expressed their interest in investing in Afghanistan’s mining sector.

The press office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs stated in a newsletter that Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs held a productive meeting with a number of investors, scholars, and health experts from South Africa.

In this meeting, South African investors pointed to the emerging opportunities for investment in Afghanistan and expressed their interest in the mining sector. They mentioned that with the help of advanced technology, they can extract and process minerals effectively.

Additionally, health experts from South Africa expressed their desire to coordinate with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Public Health to construct a standard, well-equipped hospital. This would support the healthcare sector in Afghanistan and provide quality medical services to the Afghan people.

In response, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, assured full cooperation and support for South African investors, scholars, and health experts, emphasizing the IEA’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and investment opportunities.

He further highlighted that a favorable environment for investment has been established in Afghanistan, inviting both domestic and foreign investors to seize this opportunity for mutual benefit.
