Deputy PM Baradar Akhund Emphasizes Termez Trade Center’s Role in Expanding Regional Economic Ties

 

KABUL (BNA): Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, traveled to Termez, Uzbekistan, today at the official invitation of the Uzbek government. He attended the inauguration ceremony of the Termez International Trade Center.

According to a statement from the press office of the Deputy PM, Mullah Baradar Akhund emphasized that the launch of the Termez International Trade Center represents a significant milestone in enhancing commercial ties and regional cooperation between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. He highlighted that this center would expand investment opportunities, strengthen trade relations, and create new employment prospects in both countries. Additionally, it will facilitate new market access for goods and services, contributing to accelerated economic growth across the region.

Mullah Baradar Akhund described the center as more than just a commercial facility, calling it a “new chapter of friendship, cooperation, and partnership” between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. He also noted that the center would enhance the production, processing, and export of goods, making it easier to access regional and international markets. This development is expected not only to positively impact the economic relations between the two nations but also to establish the center as a crucial economic hub and trade gateway for Central and South Asia.

Furthermore, the Deputy Prime Minister underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation in technology and innovation between the two countries through this initiative. In addition, he stated that the Termez International Trade Center would provide Afghan and Uzbek businesses with vital facilities and opportunities to market their products, thereby playing a proactive role in regional economic development.

In his concluding remarks, Mullah Baradar Akhund called on the international community to recognize the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s commitment to fostering mutually beneficial economic and trade relations with all countries. He reiterated Afghanistan’s dedication to facilitating cooperation and providing necessary support in line with its economy-focused policies.
