Deputy Minister Azizi Tours Agha Khan Institute, Applauds Contributions to Afghan Cultural Preservation
KABUL(BNA): Today, Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, the Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture from the Ministry of Information and Culture, paid an official visit to the Agha Khan Cultural Organization’s Institute for Cultural and Vocational Studies, where he toured various sections and classrooms.
During the visit, Engineer Ajmal Maiwandi, the Director of the Institute, provided an overview of the institute’s ongoing academic activities and achievements. He highlighted that each year, hundreds of students receive technical training at the institute, gaining valuable skills in cultural and artistic fields such as stone carving, woodworking, handicrafts, miniature painting, and tile making. These skills are then applied to serve the broader community.
Deputy Minister Azizi commended the efforts of the Agha Khan Institute, praising its crucial role in preserving and promoting Afghanistan’s rich cultural heritage. He emphasized the importance of such institutions in keeping the country’s traditional arts and crafts alive.
Additionally, Deputy Minister Azizi encouraged the institute’s officials to share their experiences and expertise with the Ministry’s Art Institute Directorate, which operates in similar fields.
He suggested establishing a dedicated department for artistic and vocational training within the Directorate to further enhance cooperation and promote Afghanistan’s cultural legacy.
