KABUL(BNA): Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) has announced the destruction of over 500 million AFN of deteriorated currency in the western region.
In a statement released today, Da Afghanistan Bank reported that 559,140,000 AFN worth of damaged banknotes, including denominations of ten, twenty, fifty, one hundred, five hundred, and one thousand afghanis, were destroyed in the presence of an appointed committee.
Additionally, the bank previously destroyed a total of 1,073,962,000 AFN of worn-out banknotes collected from the northern and northeastern zones during a similar ceremony in Kabul.
