DAB Discusses Financial and Banking Issues in Supreme Council Meeting

 

KABUL(BNA): In a meeting of the Supreme Council of Da Afghanistan Bank, financial and banking issues were discussed.

According to a press release from Da Afghanistan Bank, the acting governor, Hidayatullah Badri, addressed the effective implementation of monetary policies, the state of the banking sector, efforts to expand Islamic banking in the country, the mechanization of money exchange activities, and people’s access to financial services.

Badri stated that over the past year, Afghan currency has maintained its value against the US dollar and is improving compared to the currencies of many regional and global countries.

He also discussed the status, management, and liquidity improvements of the banks’ assets, noting that the level of public deposits in the Islamic banking sector has increased by four percent compared to the previous quarter.

It is worth mentioning that the Supreme Council Meeting of Da Afghanistan Bank is the highest decision-making body of the bank, holding four meetings per year.
