KABUL(BNA): Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mawlawi Najibullah Haqqani, recently met with Hisham Ramadan, the CEO of MTN Telecommunications in Afghanistan, to address ongoing telecommunication challenges and discuss the process of SIM card registration.
In a statement from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, MTN officials outlined their current operations in Afghanistan. They highlighted that they have upgraded 100 telecommunications sites to 4G and registered over 700,000 SIM cards in compliance with legal requirements.
Mawlawi Najibullah Haqqani stressed that all telecommunications networks are required to register and activate SIM cards according to established procedures. He called on telecom companies to enhance and expedite this process.
He also noted that the Ministry has provided necessary support to all telecommunications companies in the country and emphasized that these companies must adhere to regulations in delivering telecommunication services.
