Ceasefire Enters 2nd Day as Prisoner Releases Mark Goodwill Gesture

KABUL(BNA): The ceasefire between Hamas and the Israeli government has entered its second day, fostering a climate of tentative optimism as both parties engage in goodwill gestures through the release of prisoners.

Hamas announced the release of three Israeli captives, a gesture aimed at building trust in the fragile ceasefire. In return, Israel has freed 90 Palestinian detainees, many of whom have been joyfully reunited with their families after prolonged separations.

Hamas officials have indicated the possibility of releasing a second group of Israeli prisoners next Saturday, although details regarding the number and identities of those individuals remain undisclosed.

This ceasefire, which commenced on Sunday, is set to last for 42 days according to the terms of the agreement.
