KABUL(BNA): The Head of Information and Culture in Badakhshan highlighted the natural attractions of Pamir in Badakhshan as a key factor in increasing the number of tourists to the area.
Engineer Zabihullah Amiri, Head of Information and Culture in Badakhshan, told Bakhtar News Agency that tourists visiting Pamir express satisfaction with the security and hospitality of the locals and encourage others to visit this enchanting region.
According to him, Chaqmaqtin Lake, with a length of 14 kilometers and a width of 3 kilometers, featuring unique fish species, alongside its natural ecosystem and rare wildlife, is one of the most significant attractions drawing the attention of foreign tourists.
Other notable attractions include Zorkul Lake in Pamir, Shiva Lake in the Shiva region, Bashand Lake in Warduj, Maryam Lake in Khastak Jorm, Toupkhane Lake in Zebak, and Anjuman Lake in Kuran district. Each of these lakes has its own unique characteristics, fish, and aquatic creatures.
Meanwhile, Jalaluddin Khwahanpur, a domestic tourist, praised the security and the warm reception by local authorities and urged other tourists to visit Pamir Badakhshan to experience its attractions.
“Forty years ago, I visited this beautiful and scenic spot, which took several days of walking. However, now the Islamic Emirate is working to connect the historic Silk Road, a route for tourists and researchers, to China, aiming to position Afghanistan as a key economic hub in Asia.” Said Haji Mohammad Amir, another domestic Tourist.
He called on the Islamic Emirate to pave this route to modern standards and open a trade port with China to facilitate the entry of foreign tourists and enhance trade between the two countries.
