Afghanistan National Cricket Team Defeats Uganda in First T20 World Cup Match


KABUL(BNA): Afghanistan’s national cricket team triumphed over Uganda in their first match of the T20 World Cup. Afghanistan batted first, setting a target of 184 runs for the loss of five wickets.

Uganda struggled against Afghanistan’s renowned cricket stars and was bowled out for just 58 runs in the 16th over, losing the match by a margin of 125 runs.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Fazalhaq Farooqi were the undisputed stars for Afghanistan in the match against Uganda. Gurbaz scored an impressive 76 runs, while Farooqi took five wickets, paving the way for their team’s victory in their opening match of the World Cup.

Afghanistan’s next T20 World Cup match is scheduled for Saturday against New Zealand.

The T20 Cricket World Cup, featuring twenty teams from around the globe, is currently being co-hosted by the West Indies and the United States.
