Afghanistan Eyes Iran’s Expertise to Boost Agricultural Practices
KABUL(BNA): Mawlawi Sadar Azam Osmani, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, held discussions with Iran’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture during an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In a statement released by Afghanistan’s Ministry of Agriculture, both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral agricultural ties. Discussions covered a range of topics, including sharing expertise, adopting modern agricultural and irrigation technologies, organizing capacity-building initiatives, and strengthening trade in agricultural products between the two countries.
Mawlawi Osmani’s visit, undertaken at the invitation of the Iranian government, focuses on exploring Iran’s advancements in water management and soil development projects, particularly modern irrigation techniques. This engagement reflects Afghanistan’s efforts to modernize its agricultural practices by leveraging Iran’s experience in the sector.
