Afghanistan and Turkmenistan Gear Up for Launch of Strategic Economic Projects

 

KABUL(BNA): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the convening of the first preparatory meeting for the inauguration of the TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India pipeline), Fiber Optic, TAP (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission), and railway projects between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. The meeting aims to finalize arrangements for these significant regional initiatives.

According to the ministry’s press release, the meeting was held under the directive of the Prime Minister’s Office and chaired by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Attended by representatives from various security agencies and the Ministries of Mines and Petroleum, Public Works, Information and Culture, and Telecommunications and Information Technology, as well as the spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and a representative from Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat.

During the session, the chairman of the commission and officials from participating entities presented comprehensive reports on the readiness of various sub-committees and made strategic decisions to ensure the successful execution of the inauguration ceremonies.

The projects are expected to be launched in a formal ceremony in the coming days, marking a significant milestone in the strengthening of economic ties between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
