KABUL(BNA): The Acting Minister of Information and Culture, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, held a significant meeting with Japanese Ambassador Takayoshi Kuromiya today Thursday.
During the meeting, the Japanese Ambassador praised the Islamic Emirate’s successful efforts in combating narcotics, administrative corruption, security issues, and other challenges.
He announced Japan’s intention to provide $10 million in assistance to Afghanistan for alternative livelihoods and drug rehabilitation programs.
Ambassador Kuromiya also mentioned the $300,000 contribution by the Japanese government to the National Museum of Afghanistan, which is being utilized by UNESCO for the preservation of cultural heritage and ancient artifacts.
Meanwhile, the Acting Minister of Information and Culture expressed gratitude for Japan’s cooperation and assistance, particularly in the fight against narcotics and the preservation of cultural heritage.
Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa highlighted that, for the first time in 40 years, a government exercises full control over the entire geography of Afghanistan, achieving significant progress in security, narcotics control, and combating administrative corruption.
The meeting concluded with a strong emphasis on bilateral cooperation, safeguarding Afghanistan’s cultural heritage, and joint efforts against narcotics.
