39 Million AFN Invested in Storage Upgrades at Farah’s Key Trade Port

FARAH(BNA): Two warehouses and a tower have been constructed and inaugurated at the Sheikh Abu Nasr Farahi Port in Farah province, with an investment of 39 million Afghanis aimed at improving the safety and storage of commercial goods.

Eng. Ubaidullah Ubaid, the Director of Customs Projects at the Ministry of Finance, informed Bakhtar News Agency that these warehouses were funded through the development budget of the Ministry of Finance. Each warehouse has a storage capacity of 100 metric tons of commercial goods.

He added that during the construction phase, employment opportunities were created for 50 local workers, supporting the community economically.

Local traders and officials, however, have emphasized the need for additional warehouses, stating that the current facilities do not meet the growing demands for storage at the port.
