300 New Factories Mark Industrial Growth in Balkh Province Over Past Year

 

KABUL(BNA): The Directorate of Industry and Commerce in Balkh province has reported significant industrial growth, with 300 new factories beginning operations in the past year.

Qari Amir Mohammad Muttaqi, the head of Industry and Commerce in Balkh, announced that in the last year, 300 production factories have obtained operational licenses. During this period, 1,199 factories also renewed their licenses, generating over 60 million Afghanis in revenue.

Muttaqi highlighted that Balkh has transformed from a consumption-based province to an industrial hub, with more than 50% of the population now using locally produced goods.

It’s worth mentioning that, Balkh is home to over 1,700 production factories, manufacturing a wide range of products and providing employment opportunities for nearly 30,000 people. This industrial expansion is a significant step towards economic self-sufficiency and job creation in the region.
