$200 Million Cement Factory to Be Established in Balkh
KABUL(BNA): Local officials in Balkh province have announced that two Afghan and Chinese companies are planning to establish a cement factory in the region at an estimated cost of $200 million.
Mawlawi Noorulhadi Abo-Edris, Deputy Governor of Balkh, told a Bakhter Agency reporter that these companies are set to invest in the construction of a cement factory in the province, valued at $200 million.
He further explained that the factory will be built on 300 acres of land, with an annual production capacity of one million tons of cement. The project will not only meet the cement needs of Afghanistan, particularly in the northern provinces, but will also create employment for 1,000 individuals.
It is worth noting that the establishment of this factory will reduce the import of cement from neighboring countries and mark a significant step towards self-sufficiency for Afghanistan.
