20 New Schools to Be Built in Kandahar with AFN 178 Million Funding

KANDAHAR (BNA): The construction of buildings for 20 schools has officially begun in Kandahar province, including the central areas and 11 surrounding districts. The project, funded by UNICEF, is valued at 178 million afghanis.

According to Mullah Abdul Salam Baryali, the head of Kandahar’s Department of Economy, these schools will be built in Nish, Dand, Daman, Arghandab, Spin Boldak, Arghistan, Maroof, Miyanshin, Loy Shawalikot, Panjwai, and Khakrez districts. Each school will cost approximately 8.9 million afghanis and will include essential facilities.

He further emphasized that the schools are being constructed to meet long-term needs, ensuring the quality and durability of the buildings.

Since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate, numerous projects, including the construction of schools, have been accelerated across various provinces, aiming to address local challenges and create further opportunities in different sectors.
